For nearly seventy years, Baia Sangiorgio has been an integral part of the city’s life. From a small marina in Marina di Triggiano to a destination for hospitality, tourism, and leisure: a history that has grown alongside Bari, while keeping its connection to the sea intact.

The San Giorgio Tourist Village Opens
Michelangelo Interesse brings together five hectares of uncultivated countryside and transforms a stretch of coastline on the outskirts of Bari into a place dedicated to the sea, hospitality, and socializing.
The 1960sThe 1960s
An International Calling
The Village has become a go-to destination for travelers visiting Bari. The beach, swimming pool, restaurant, campground, bungalows, and five trulli built by master trullo builders showcase a Puglia ready to welcome the world.

The Sea at the Center
A modern boat hall equipped with an innovative boat-hauling system has been built. Baia Sangiorgio thus strengthens its connection to the sea and to Bari’s nautical tradition.

The Gold Medal
The City of Bari has awarded Michelangelo Interesse the Gold Medal of Merit for Tourism, in recognition of the innovative nature of the initiatives he has carried out for the city.
From 2006 to the presentFrom 2006 to the present
A New Life, the Same Bay
The owners have resumed direct management and are launching a new season. The resort has been revitalized and is now known as Baia Sangiorgio Hotel & Beach Club, preserving the history of the place while embracing the future.
Saint Nicholas1087 · An Even Older Story
St. Nicholas passed through here
According to local accounts and Bari tradition, before reaching the city, the sailors carrying the relics of Saint Nicholas landed at the small port of San Giorgio. Even today, every May 7, the saint’s journey to Bari symbolically begins from this bay.
